Bio:  During the 1992 County Re-Assessment Project, Derrick collected property record data on each individual residential and commercial parcels of land. From 1999 until 2004, as a member of the local Urban League Board of Directors, Derrick formed friendships and strategic alliances as he became more familiar with our service community. A Victim of Predatory lending, Derrick survived a lengthy foreclosure process to retain ownership of his home and brought his loan current. Derrick tells people how a mortgage broker and a lender raised his loan amount and interest rate in order for the broker to collect a higher commission from his loan.
